The Arcimboldo Exhibition in Rome is dedicated to Giuseppe Arcimboldo (born in Milan 1526), who was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books. The exhibition takes place at the Palazzo Barberini in the centre of the Eternal City, from the 20th October 2017 until the 11th February 2018. Organised by the National Galleries of Ancient Art of Rome and Mondo Mostre Skira, visitors will be able to admire about twenty masterpieces, drawings and paintings by Giuseppe Arcimboldi better known as Arcimboldo. All his most famous paintings are on show at Palazzo Barberini; Seasons, Elements, The Librarian, The Jurists, The Gardener and The Cook. This is the first time in Rome that such a collection has been exhibited, with pieces of Arcimboldo's work being brought together from around Italy and the world, including such cities as Basel, Denver, Houston, Munich, Stockholm, Vienna and Milan.
