Monet Exhibition In Rome

Dates: 19.10.17 - 28.01.18. Address: Complesso del Vittoriano, Via di San Pietro in Carcere, 00186 Rome, Italy.

From the 19th October visitors of the Complesso Del Vittoriano (Ala Brisini) in Rome can see an exhibition dedicated to the father of Impressionism, namely the one and only Oscar-Claude Monet. The Monet Exhibition, conceived and administered by Marianne Mathieu, presents about sixty pieces of some of his best pieces of work. They have been loaned from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris which also celebrated the 80th anniversary of his life in 2016. The works include the famous and beautiful ‘Water Lilies Series’, which were kept at Monet’s last home in Giverny (France) until his death in 1926. The exhibition shows the many facets of his work and his artistic wealth; from his famous caricatures of the late 1950s, through to the rural and urban landscapes of London, Paris, Vétheuil and Pourville, as well as his portraits of children and canvases dedicated to the loveliest flowers of his garden, to the disturbing modernity of weeping willows.
